How old is NSW CID?

NSW CID turned 50 years old in November 2006.

Why did NSW CID begin?

 In 1956 there were not many support services for people with intellectual disability.

So a group of parents formed NSW CID.

How did NSW CID stay around for so long?

Through lots of hard work!

We have been helped by volunteers, community members, staff and members.

Has NSW CID changed?

Yes

We used to talk for people with intellectual disability.

Now we talk with people with intellectual disability.

Today NSW CID supports people with intellectual disability to be strong leaders.
